I grew up with a single mom who did an amazing job but she wanted a consistent male presence for me.
She found Big Brothers and into my life came a generous, supportive, fun and overall amazing man… My Big Brother.
He showed me how he lived his life, his family and the amazing things he had done.
He showed me consistency. He showed me commitment. He showed me understanding and patience.
He was there for me.
I’ve been so grateful for his presence and never knew how to thank him.
As I run around Lake Simcoe, realizing what is truly possible in my life by seeking out new challenges, I realize that by sharing my journey that I may impact some people.
The kids in my family see an adult striving for something bigger.
It reminds me of the impact that my Big Brother left on me.
This is a great opportunity for people to know the amazing things that Big Brothers and Big Sisters do for children and the life long impact it can have.
